Shahrazad, the daughter of the Prime minister, was famous for her intelligence, good judgment, and beauty. She asked her father, the minister, to marry her to Shahryar, in order to cure him and stop the killing of the girls of the kingdom. She succeeds by continuously telling him stories of One Thousand and One Nights.

The Sultan of Karaman, killed his wife for betraying him. Every month he marries a virgin woman and kills her the next morning, until he marries Shahrazad who cured him by telling him stories that made him closer to his people. And due to her intelligence in telling her stories, Shahryar postponed the order of her death every morning

Shahryar's brother and rival, he seeks with all his might to wrest the kingdom of Karaman from him but gets defeated by Shahryar, so he kidnaps Shahrazad who delivers her baby in prison. He decides to kill them but Shahryar succeeds in saving them and most surprisngly forgives him.

A wise woman that backs her son Shahryar. Was confused by her attachment to her son and her refusal of killing the girls he marry every month. She supported Shahrazad in her mission in curing Shahryar through stories.

A strong, handsome young man, and Commander of war in Karman. At first he led the revolution against Shahryar for killing his wives, which resulted several riots the kingdom, but then allied with him to protect it.

The first wife of Shahryar, known for her beauty , got tired of being neglectedas a wife and secretly fell in love with a young gardener, but Sultan Shahryar discovers their relationship and kills them both. This incident was the reason why the Sultan marries a different virgin girl every month then kills her the next morning .
